8th – 10th August 2019 | Parzival and the Eternal Feminine

Updated: Sep 8, 2019

Bathe in story, beauty, art, and conversation, and experience the deepening of the feminine on Women’s Day weekend in August with Briar and Michael Grimley.

The Accolade – Edmund Blair Leighton

“A tale I anew will tell thee, that speaks of a mighty love; Of the womanhood of true woman; how a man did his manhood prove, Of one that endured all hardness.”

Wolfram von Eschenbach

With the majestic story of Parzival the listeners may go on their own journey of adventure. Parzival shares his journey with the Eternal Feminine, and in her many guises protects, nurtures, comforts, instructs, admonishes and finally awakens and leads him to faith, hope and, above all, love. The pure fool’s passage through ignorance, doubt, to blessedness reflects our own journey, from the naivety of youth to the maturity of adulthood. Through the guidance of the Eternal Feminine, the awakening and yearning for love, it’s fulfillment through sacrifice, hardship and the overcoming of the blows of destiny may strike deep chords of empathy in all of us, woman or man.

The story will be told over three evenings in The Well, a temple-like space in the magnificent gardens of Temenos Retreat, in the rustic village of McGregor. The mornings will be at Acacia Grove, where, through guided conversation and sharing, you will be led to finding your own images from the story, to dwell in, and dream into, and will then be led through drawing and painting to create your own personal art pieces. Please note – no previous artistic experience is necessary. Friday and Saturday lunches will be in Tebaldi’s Restaurant in the gardens of Temenos. Your afternoons will be free for reflection, rest, enjoying the ambiance of the streets and shops in McGregor - the ‘village on the way to nowhere’, at the foothills of the mountains, where time stands still…

You are warmly invited to join Briar and Michael for this unique experience. They have both been upper school teachers in main stream and Waldorf schools. Their lives have taught them the value of story and art in nourishing soul and spirit. They would love to touch souls with you…
