2 - 4 June 2023 |Devotion to Self – A winter weekend retreat for introspection, meditation and yoga.

Updated: Jun 3, 2023

Winter is the perfect time to retreat inwards. A time of quiet reflection, to collect your thoughts and find clarity. A time to restore, renourish and connect to the wisdom and intuition within.

The busy-ness, noise and overwhelm of life can so easily drown out our inner voice – a voice that speaks with authenticity, clarity, truth and wisdom, if we only make the time and space to listen and hear what it has to tell us.

Set aside time and space for yourself at the beautiful Temenos Retreat in McGregor where we’ll guide you through a weekend of mindful practices designed to turn your attention inwards, fill up your cup, and connect to your authentic nature. So that you leave feeling restored and more in tune with you, so you can engage more authentically with the world – in your relationships and your environments.

What’s included:

~ 2 x night’s accommodation (sharing or private) in beautiful ensuite cottages nestled in the healing gardens of Temenos Retreat in McGregor. All cottages are ensuite and enjoy a private patio and fireplace

~ A specially-designed schedule of mindful practises (accessible to all levels of practitioner) – including daily yoga, breath work, yoga nidra, meditation and interactive discussion

~ A nourishing, delicious daily vegetarian menu of brunch, healthy snacks and dinner (meals can be tailored to suit an individual’s dietary requirements)

You will also have plenty of free time to do whatever your heart desires. Our retreat venue has many quiet spaces to explore and enjoy quiet contemplation; an extensive library of Health and Healing books for you to choose from and to enjoy either reading in front of a log fire in the library or your cottage; trails and hikes to ramble upon in the surrounding area; the quaint, historic village of McGregor – one of the Western Cape’s best kept secrets – to explore.

“With every breath I plant the seeds of devotion –

I am a farmer of the heart.

Day and night I see the face of union –

I am the mirror of God.

Every moment I shape my destiny with a chisel –

I am the carpenter of my own soul.”

Rumi

Leigh is a 500hr qualified yoga teacher and the proud founder of House of Yoga in Cape Town – an urban sanctuary where people from all walks of life come to reconnect with themselves. She has practiced yoga for 18 years and has explored various styles of yoga (including Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Scaravelli and Ashtanga) and is privileged to be able to share with others what the practice has gifted her, through movement, breath work, meditation and yoga nidra: being comfortable and at home in the body and with oneself; to re-access the intelligence centres of the body to balance out overstimulation of the mind and incessant thought; and to take responsibility for one’s body and overall well being. For Leigh, every time we step onto our mats, we begin a journey – a journey home to ourselves. Yoga is about celebrating the adventure of life, being human, our uniqueness, but also our connection of all things.
